Annual Review

The International Air Transport Association – IATA – was founded in 1945 as the trade association for the world’s airlines. We represent some 290 airlines, comprising around 82% of global air traffic.

IATA’s mission is to represent, lead and serve the airline industry. Working together with our partners, our vision is to shape the future growth of a safe, secure and sustainable air transport industry that connects and enriches our world.

This digital Annual Review sets out the key challenges facing the industry, and IATA’s activities in 2018, across the areas of safety, security, regulatory issues, infrastructure, environment, cargo, passenger and financial services. The Review begins with a list of current IATA members, the IATA Board of Governors, an introductory message from our Director General & CEO, an interview with our Chairman, and a summary of the economic story of the industry in 2018.
